Our Pastor:
“Hello, my name is Pastor Herb Searfoss. It is my pleasure to pastor the sweet people at Glenwood Bible Church. Please allow me to introduce myself through a brief personal testimony:
I was saved at the age of five at a Good News club. I heard the gospel and confessed my sin asking Christ to save me. I was raised in a Christian home, for which I praise the Lord. I was baptized by immersion at the age of thirteen in Bowman's Creek in northeastern Pennsylvania. As a teenager I drifted from my dedication to the Lord, still attending church, but not focused on God's will. Through that time God continued to pursue me. I met my wife, Becky, at a teen activity where she was a Bible quiz participant. We were married after her first year of Bible College. God has blessed me with a wonderful, supportive spouse. I was employed at a local commercial printing plant at the time. I began to attend church with my wife and became very involved in the music program there at the request of the Pastor. I served as a layman in Mehoopany Baptist Church both as deacon for one term and as music director for about six years. During this time God was working in my heart concerning ministry as I sought to serve Him. In January of 1994 I attended a class at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary during the winter inter-term. God used that as a tool to show me that He could help me with seminary. It was there that God confirmed that He wanted me to go on to full time ministry. I was 30 years old with a wife and two children (Daniel, and Emma). God allowed us to survive through seminary and to graduate in 1999. In 1998 I was introduced to Pastor Rich Hall of Calvary Baptist Church of Greater Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I served there part time on weekends through the last year of seminary and upon graduation was asked to be part of the full time staff. After nine years of full time ministry God called me here to Glenwood Bible Church. The church voted to call me on November 23, 2008. We arrived in Glenwood on December 8, 2008 and began ministering as senior pastor on December 14. GBC is a church with a genuine love for the Lord and each other. I am looking forward to the great things God will do here as I serve both Him and His people.”
